Taiwan Travelogue

Presented as a translation of a rediscovered text by a Japanese writer, Taiwan Travelogue tells a bittersweet story of love between two women. The narrative explores themes of language, history and power. Set in May 1938, the story follows young novelist Aoyama Chizuko as she sails from Japan to Taiwan. There, her interpreter offers her glimpses of island life and helps her experience the local cuisine.
