This Way Up: When Maps Go Wrong (and Why it Matters)

About this book

This book explores a selection of historical and contemporary maps that have gone wrong. It features world maps, colonial maps, corporate maps, Soviet maps, pioneer maps, and news maps, alongside those whose intended use was repurposed for a French surrealist political movement in the 1950s. Each chapter uncovers a unique tale of adventure, error, and unexpected humour, examining what happened in these instances of cartographic chaos and mishaps.
